Water Polo Continues MAWPC Play at No. 5 Fordham, Wagner
10/8/2026 2:15:00 PM | Water Polo
(RV) GW water polo returns to play this weekend with a pair of conference matchups in New York, as the Revolutionaries travel to face No. 5 Fordham (10 a.m.) and Wagner (4 p.m.) on the road on Sunday. GW's game at Fordham will be streamed on YouTube, while game two Sunday vs. Wagner will be streamed on NEC Front Row.Â
The Revolutionaries opened up conference play last weekend on the road with a pair of tightly-contested matchups, falling at Bucknell in overtime on Saturday, 14-13, before beating Mercyhurst on Sunday, 17-15. GW is currently tied for fourth with Wagner and Mount St. Mary's in the conference with two points.
No. 5 Fordham currently sits at 11-1 with its lone loss coming against No. 1 UCLA. The Rams have a busy weekend ahead, playing Wagner, No. 9 Princeton and No. 15 Navy at home before hosting the Revolutionaries on Sunday. The Rams have been the team to beat in the MAWPC for the past several years as they enter the weekend on a 48-game MAWPC winning streak. GW and Fordham last met in the MAWPC Championship game last season, in a game in which GW led early but couldn't withstand Fordham's depth as the Rams clinched the conference with a 16-9 win.Â
Wagner has a 6-11 overall record with a 1-1 mark in conference play, with a win over Mercyhurst and a loss to Bucknell. Before facing the Revolutionaries on Sunday afternoon, the Seahawks will play at No. 5 Fordham on Friday night before hosting No. 15 Navy Sunday morning. GW is looking for its first road win at Wagner since 2024 as the teams were 1-1 against each other last year with each team winning its respective home game.
