Water Polo Begins Season at Triton Invitational

Five of six GW opponents are ranked to begin the season
WASHINGTON - The George Washington water polo team blasts into action this weekend with six games at the Triton Invitational. The Revolutionaries will play two games per day, beginning on Friday at 3:10 p.m. (ET) with the season opener against No. 15 UC Santa Barbara.

REVOLUTIONARIES' ROSTERÂ
Led by Head Coach Barry King in his ninth season, the Revolutionaries return 10 student-athletes from 2024, and have added eight newcomers to the roster, which include seven first-years and one graduate transfer.Â
GW returns two of its top three point producers from last season in Adonis Vlassis (77 G, 24 A) and Antonio Florena (52 goals, 15 assists). GW has also added veteran goalkeeper Vasilije Marinkovic, who is a transfer from MAWPC rival Mount St. Mary's, and finished 2024 with a team-high 210 saves, including a Mount St. Mary's single-game record 25 saves.
A GLANCE AHEAD
GW's schedule continues on Sept. 5-6 when the road takes the Revolutionaries to the Princeton Invitational, where GW will face another trio of ranked opponents, including preseason No. 1 UCLA. The Revolutionaries will also match up against preseason No. 13 California Baptist and preseason No. 18 (T) Santa Clara.Â
