WASHINGTON – Ganiyat Adeduntan and the George Washington women's basketball program have unveiled its 2025-26 non-conference slate. GW will open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 3, with a DMV matchup against the University of the District of Columbia. In total, GW's out-of-conference calendar features seven home games, four road contests and two neutral site bouts as part of the Cayman Islands Classic.
"I'm really excited about the non-conference schedule we've been able to put together," said Adeduntan. "The opponents we've scheduled will be very competitive and will expose us to a lot of different styles of play. We're excited for the growth opportunities we'll have because it will help us prepare for a very competitive A-10 schedule with the ultimate goal of working to bring the program back to its winning ways."
Following the season opener against UDC, GW will travel to face Temple on Friday, Nov. 7. The matchup renews an old rivalry against former conference foes that haven't met since the 2011-12 season, the final year Temple was a member of the Atlantic 10. The Revolutionaries hold a 28-22 advantage in the all-time series. Temple is coming off a 20-win season for the second consecutive year under the guidance of Diane Richardson. Richardson spent four seasons (2012-16) in Foggy Bottom as an assistant coach, winning two A-10 titles during her tenure.
GW will then welcome Howard to the Smith Center on Tuesday, Nov. 11, marking the sixth-consecutive season the two programs will face off. The matchup is significant as the Bison were the first opponent GW played at home inside the Smith Center 50 years ago during the program's and building's inaugural season in 1975-76.
The Buff & Blue hit the road for two contests against Longwood (Nov. 17) and Georgetown (Nov. 21) before returning home to host Morgan State on Sunday, Nov. 23. GW clashes with the Hoyas for the 39th time in program history and the first meeting since the 2021-22 campaign.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, GW will participate in the Cayman Islands Classic on Nov. 28 and 29. GW's opponents for the MTE have yet to be announced. John Gray Gymnasium in George Town, Grand Cayman, will serve as the home for the classic after hosting the men's invitational the weekend prior.
The Revolutionaries return home to play Brown on Saturday, Dec. 6 to celebrate 50 years playing in the Charles E. Smith Center. The weekend will be full of events that include GW's bi-annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, multiple student-athlete alumni events and a men's basketball game against William & Mary as well. More info about the building's history and all events scheduled for the weekend can be found here.
GW's final road non-conference matchup is set for Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Delaware before returning home to host American on Sunday, Dec. 14. Right before the Christmas holiday, GW will welcome Northwestern to the nation's capital, bringing Joe McKeown back to the Smith Center on Dec. 21 during his farewell season. The long-time head coach spent 19 years in Foggy Bottom, winning 14 A-10 titles and becoming the program's all-time winningest head coach with 441 victories.
The Revolutionaries wrap up non-conference play at home against Coppin State on Sunday, Dec. 28. Game times as well as the 2025-26 A-10 Conference schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. Similar to last season, GW will once again play host to an early-December A-10 matchup. The conference has made this standard across the league for the first time, with all 14 teams opening the A-10 slate on Wednesday, Dec. 3, before picking back up with the usual conference calendar in late December.
