Swimming & Diving Claims 14 Medals Friday; Leads into Final Day of A-10 Championships

Connor Rodgers claims A-10 Record in 400 IM, Moriah Freitas breaks school 100 fly record twice
HAMPTON, Va. - The George Washington University men's and women's swimming & diving teams completed day three at the A-10 Championships, both amassing sizable leads. The men's team is ahead with 584 points - far ahead of George Mason in second with 340 points, while the women's team is in first with 438.5 points, holding an 55.5-point lead over Richmond with 383.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Connor Rodgers broke the A-10 and school record in the 400-yard IM, blazing through the finals with a gold-medal time (3:46.15). Rodgers was joined on the podium by a pair of teammates, Gage Boushee in second (3:48.77) and Ben Sosnowski in third (3:49.85).Â

Ganesh Sivaramakrishnan (46.63) and Holden Thomas (46.97) claimed gold and silver medals in the 100-yard backstroke, respectively.Â

The men's 400-yard medley relay closed the night with a gold medal (3:07.43). The relay was swam by Sivaramakrishnan, Preston Lin, Daniel Nagy and Elliott Irwin.Â

Irwin (46.15) and Nagy (46.59) raced to second and third-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly to earn a pair of medals for GW.Â

Lin finished on the podium after finishing the 100-yard breaststroke in second place (53.48).Â

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Moriah Freitas broke the GW program record in the 100-yard butterfly twice, the latter of which resulted in a silver medal and the new record to beat (53.04).Â

Colleen MacWilliams (4:13.65) and Molly Smyers (4:14.55) were part of a three-way race to the finish in the 400-yard IM, but were just beat out by Fordham's Ainhoa Martin (4:13.40), and took home silver and bronze, respectively.

Natalie Sens reached the podium in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.90), tying for the third podium spot with Davidson's Anna Newman.Â

Olivia Paquette earned her second medal of the meet when she placed second in the 3-meter dive finals (284.15).Â

The Revolutionaries return for the last day of the 2025 A-10 Championships tomorrow with prelims beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by finals at 6:00 p.m. Both sessions will air live on ESPN+.Â
