GW men's and women's basketball open up the 50th Anniversary season of the Charles E. Smith Center on Monday, November 3rd with the women tipping off at 5 p.m. vs. UDC, followed by the Buff & Blue men taking on Maine at 8 p.m.

To add to the gameday experience, GW is excited to welcome Mike Biana as the in-game host at Smith Center. Mike has been the in-game host for the Washington Mystics and also has experience hyping up crowds for the Miami Marlins, Miami Heat and Richmond Kickers.

At select men's and women's games this season, one lucky fan will have a chance to win $10,000 by draining a 94-foot putt across the length of the Smith Center floor, presented by Northwest Federal Credit Union.

Fans can look forward to commemorative game nights, alumni reunions, exclusive giveaways, and a spotlight on standout moments from the past five decades.

Throughout the 2025-26 academic year, GW Athletics will be proud to recognize ten of the greatest to ever wear the Buff and Blue by honoring or retiring their jerseys in its athletics venues. The first honorees from the basketball programs will be Joe Holup from the men's side at halftime of the game on Nov. 15 vs. Old Dominion.
Still to come this year will be recognitions for women's basketball's Tajama Abraham and Jonquel Jones as well as men's basketball's Yinka Dare, Shawnta Rogers and Mike Brown.

A no bag policy has been implemented ahead of the 2025-26 season to enhance the safety of all guests and to better align GW events with venue management best practices.
Medical bags, and parenting bags no larger than 16" x 16" x 8" will be allowed and are subject to security screening.
GW Athletics reserves the right to refuse any item that may pose a safety risk, disrupt the event, or violate venue policies or the list of prohibited items.
The Charles E. Smith Center will not check or store prohibited items under any circumstances. Guests are encouraged to plan accordingly before arriving at the venue.
