BRONX, N.Y. - The GW volleyball team rolled past the Fordham Rams on Saturday afternoon in Rose Hill Gym, earning a sweep in the series opener, 25-21, 27-25, 25-18.  

HOW IT HAPPENED
·      Both teams brought intensity to the match's opening frame, but it was GW who found momentum late, earning seven of the set's last eight points to claim the opener, 25-21. 
·      Battling into extra points, with seven ties and two lead changes, the Buff & Blue played its most efficient volleyball in the second, putting down 18 kills and hitting .297 as a team. Once again finding its footing late, the GW Revs earned the middle frame, 27-25. 
·      The host Rams matched GW in kills at 11 apiece in the third, but once again, the Revolutionaries thwarted Fordham's momentum, this time for good, and won the set at 25-18 to also claim the afternoon sweep.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
·      Sydney Hasenfratz led GW on offense with 14 kills and hitting a stellar .667. She also tallied two digs and chipped in on two blocks. 
·      Cayla Cogan also had double-digits in with 11 kills. 
·      Cianna Tejada and Taylor Treahy led the Buff & Blue defense at the net, each contributing to four blocks. 
·      The team earned 39 digs across eight Revolutionaries in the back row. 
·      At setter, Abby Markworth fed the attackers with 31 assists while also leading GW with two service aces. 

GW looks to capitalize off the victory tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the series finale at Fordham. First serve is slated for 1 p.m., and the contest will be aired on ESPN+.  Â
