
Volleyball Falls at NC State, 3-0

RALEIGH, N.C. – GW volleyball fell in straight sets to the NC State Wolfpack at Reynolds Coliseum on Wednesday night, 18-25, 16-25, 12-25.
BY THE NUMBERS
Liv Womble led the GW attack with eight kills and MC Daubendiek tallied seven kills with zero errors on 14 attempts to hit an even .500. Brittany Myers added six kills from the outside. Dilara Elmacioglu recorded 12 assists and Maeve Loughran added 11. Amina Robinson came up with eight digs to lead GW's defense.
HOW IT HAPPENED
NC State controlled set one from the opening point, burying 17 kills with a .394 hitting percentage to take the opening frame.
In set two, GW limited the Wolfpack to 13 kills while GW put down 12. NC State moved to a 19-9 lead over the Revolutionaries and despite a valiant effort to try to even the second set, the home team wouldn't let GW get any closer than 15-21, eventually going ahead 2-0 in the match.
Unlike the opening two sets, GW kept it close with the host Wolfpack at the start of set three. A block from Sydney Stewart gave GW its first lead of the match at 6-5. NC State took control and pushed a lead to 10-6, but GW crawled back into the final set, cutting the lead to two at 13-11 before a 10-point scoring run from the home team helped towards the Wolfpack's ninth-straight victory.
UP NEXT
GW heads into its final non-conference weekend, taking part in the Jefferson Cup Invitational hosted by Virginia on Friday and Saturday. GW will play Wofford on Friday at 4:30 p.m. before matching up with either Virginia or Norfolk State on Saturday.
