Volleyball Stopped at George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Washington volleyball team fell in straight sets to nearby-rival George Mason on Wednesday night. The Patriots defeated GW, 25-17, in three consecutive sets to snap a nine-match losing streak.
The Revolutionaries were led by junior Salem Yohannes with nine kills and a team-high eight digs. Junior Brittany Myers registered four kills for the Revolutionaries, while senior Liv Womble tallied three kills. Sophomore Maeve Loughran dished out 15 assists for GW and tallied one ace, while graduate student Grace Wiczek also recorded an ace as well. George Mason was paced by Ewelina Gacek and Gabriella Gelfound with nine kills each, while Kristofic Grace tallied 16 assists. Gracie Halley tallied a team-high 16 digs for the Patriots.
The Revolutionaries return to action on Friday when they host 18th-ranked Dayton Flyers at the Smith Center. Match time is slated for 6 p.m., and a live stream will be available on ESPN+. GW will host the Flyers again on Saturday at 2 p.m. in A-10 action. No live stream will be available for Saturday's match.
