Women’s Soccer Tallies Three Second-Half Goals, Picks Up First A-10 Win

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Behind three second-half goals, the George Washington women's soccer team earned a 3-2 victory over St. Bonaventure for their first A-10 win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 46th Minute: Haylee Smith got the Bonnies on the scoreboard 54 second into the second half. The goal was Smith's first of the season and was assisted by Olivia Allen.
 - 68th Minute: GW tied the match midway through the second period via a goal from first-year Alexa Meinen. Meinen's goal, her third of the season, was assisted by sophomore Aoi Kataoka. The assist gives Kataoka nine on the year, second-most in program history for a single season.
 - 69th Minute: The Bonnies immediately reclaimed the lead off a goal from Allen. Allen's score is her sixth of the season and was assisted by Rachel Hutchison.
 - 69th Minute: Before anyone could blink, the score was tied again when junior Kelly Poole registered her fourth goal of the season. The goal marked the third score in a two-minute stretch and knotted the score at two apiece.
 - 80th Minute: In the late stages of the match, Kataoka delivered the game-winning goal off an assist from Meinen. The goal is Kataoka's second of the season, giving her a team-high 13 total points on the season.
 
NOTEWORTHY
- GW outshot St. Bonaventure 10-8 on the day, including a 6-5 edge in shots on goal.
 - St. Bonaventure took six corner kicks, while GW only attempted one.
 - The win gives GW its first A-10 victory of the season and snaps a streak of eight-straight losses.
 - GW's offense was paced by Kataoka who finished with five total shots including three shots on goal.
 - Sophomore Isabel Kelly, Meinen and Poole all tallied one shot on goal each.
 - Junior Ainsley Lumpe recorded two saves in net for GW after earning the start. Graduate student Rose Hemans was subbed in late in the second half, tallying one save as well.
 - St. Bonaventure's offense was led by Allen who registered three total shots.
 - Mackenzie Nolan registered three saves for the Bonnies in 90 minutes of action.
