Volleyball Plays Duquesne for Two-Match Home Series

WASHINGTON – With a 5-1 record at home, GW volleyball looks to maintain its winning ways at the Smith Center, hosting Duquesne on Friday and Saturday to continue Atlantic 10 play. The Revolutionaries and Dukes play on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m., with both matches available on ESPN+.
LAST TIME OUT
George Washington dropped a pair of matches to Loyola Chicago on Saturday and Sunday, 3-0, 3-0. Liv Womble continued to be the highlight of the GW offense, registering 26 kills across the two matches, hitting for a season-high matching .545 on Saturday with 14 kills and two errors on 22 attempts. Womble also scooped up a season-high six digs on Saturday.
RIGHT SIDE EFFICIENCY
Womble and MC Daubendiek have been GW's consistent right-side hitters throughout the season, swinging above .200% with Womble at .269% and Daubendiek at .210%. Womble paces the GW offense with 188 kills on the season and Daubendiek has put down 91, nearing her career-high for a season, which she set in 2022 with 114. The Omaha, Neb., native is on pace to surpass the career milestone with 11 matches remaining on the schedule with the junior opposite averaging six kills/match.
SCOUTING DUQUESNE
The Dukes (8-7, 3-4 A-10) moved to sixth in the conference after picking up back-to-back 3-2 wins over Saint Louis last weekend. Avery Hobson enters the weekend as the A-10's Rookie of the Week after the first-year posted a match-high 17 kills and 16 digs for her seventh double-double of the year in the team's win over the Billikens on Friday. Hobson is seventh in the A-10 and leads her team with 186 kills this season, averaging 3.38/set from the outside.
