Volleyball Falls to Davidson, 3-0

GW will close its home slate on Saturday at 3 p.m.
WASHINGTON – GW volleyball fell in straight sets to Davidson on Friday night, 22-25, 12-25, 12-25.
BY THE NUMBERS
MC Daubendiek led GW's offense with nine kills and Brittany Myers and Liv Womble added seven apiece. The Buff & Blue tallied 35 kills, two shy of the visiting Wildcats, who put down 37. Defensively, Bella Bowman tallied 13 digs and Dilara Elmacioglu recorded nine to go along with her team-leading 15 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Behind three GW kills and a pair of Davidson errors, the Buff & Blue moved to a 5-2 advantage to open the match. The Wildcats eventually evened the set at 13 and briefly led at 17-15 before four straight points from GW resulted in a 21-19 Buff & Blue lead. However, the Wildcats would allow just one more point for GW, clinching the opening set, 25-22.
Boosted by a nine-point service run from Davidson's Jessie Doyal, the Wildcats moved to a 22-9 lead before three straight kills helped to a 2-0 set advantage.
Momentum continued for Davidson in the final set, hitting .500 to bury 15 kills and earn the 3-0 victory at Smith Center.
