Myers leads GW offense with 13 kills, 10 digs
WASHINGTON – GW volleyball saw its six-match win streak end on Saturday in a 3-1 loss to Fordham, 25-16, 17-25, 16-25, 21-25.Â
BY THE NUMBERSÂ
Brittany Myers led GW's offense with 13 kills and a .294 hitting percentage. Liv Womble added 11 kills and MC Daubendiek recorded 10. Dilara Elmacioglu and Grace Allread tallied 19 and 14 assists, respectively.Â
Bella Bowman led GW on defense with 13 digs, and Myers recorded her first double-double of the season, adding 10 digs to her team-leading offensive output.Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
GW quickly moved to a 5-0 advantage to open set one and stretched its lead to eight at 15-7. Then, six straight points from the Buff & Blue helped to a dominant 25-16 set one victory.Â
Powered by a four-point rally, Fordham quickly regained control in the match with a 9-4 lead in set two. 15 kills to GW's nine helped the Rams even the match at one set apiece.Â
Offensive efficiency continued for Fordham in set three, registering a match-high 16 kills with a .412 hitting percentage to take a one-set lead over GW. GW put down 11 kills in set three but suffered a seven-point rally from Fordham midway through the frame to put it out of reach.Â
Fordham tallied 16 kills in what would be the final frame to clinch the match. After falling behind 15-12, GW strung together a four-point scoring run to take the lead at 16-15, but the Rams quickly answered with seven straight points to regain control for good.Â

GW will visit Dayton next weekend for a 7 p.m. match on Friday and a 3 p.m. start on Saturday.Â
