WASHINGTON – GW volleyball picked up its sixth consecutive win in dominant fashion on Friday night with a 3-0 sweep of Fordham, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.

Defensively, Addie Feek and Womble each tallied three blocks and Bella Bowman led GW's backline with 16 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
With Salem Yohannes starting the service in set one, GW jumped to a 5-0 lead. The Rams fought their way back, evening the set at 13-13 before another service run by Yohannes boosted GW to a four-point scoring run to lead 17-13. Five more kills for the GW offense that produced a match-high 17 in the set helped the home team to a 25-21 set one victory.
Momentum continued for the Buff & Blue, who managed a 16-9 lead to begin set two. A four-point rally by Fordham late in the set forced a GW timeout at 23-23 before a kill from Womble and a Fordham error put set two away.
GW created a 13-8 advantage in set three, but three straight points from the Rams nearly erased the GW lead at 13-11. Both teams then scored four straight points, but GW still maintained a three-point cushion at 18-15 before cruising to a 25-21 set three victory.
UP NEXT
GW will look to make it seven straight wins and its third consecutive A-10 series sweep in its final matchup against Fordham on Saturday at 3 p.m.
