The George Washington University Department of Athletics is thrilled to announce that games and events will be conducted without capacity limits or other Covid-related restrictions in 2021-22.Â
Â
"We are so excited to be able to welcome back our fans in the fullest capacity for all of our events," said GW Athletics Director Tanya Vogel. "We are grateful to everyone for their work to allow our students to safely train and compete last year, but there was something distinctly missing. The environment that our fans create serves as an additional boost to our student-athletes as they strive to be at their very best, and they're at their best when our loyal fans, students, families, friends and alumni are out in full behind them. We are thrilled to welcome back our fans to cheer on GW!"
Â
GW Athletics will open the fall hosting men's and women's soccer games on the Mount Vernon Campus and volleyball and men's water polo at Smith Center. Fall ball games for baseball at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park and softball and lacrosse on the Vern will also resume at full capacity. Men's and women's basketball, gymnastics and men's and women's swimming & diving will return this winter with fans allowed at 100% capacity.Â
Â
All schedules will be released as appropriate in the coming weeks and months.
Â
