Women’s Soccer Wins Third Consecutive Game

GW returns to the pitch on Sunday for Senior Day
TOWSON, Md. – The George Washington women's soccer team won its third consecutive game on Thursday night, topping Towson 2-1.
A-10 Offensive Player of the Week Natalie Silberman came out on the attack once again for the Buff and Blue, finding the back of the net in just the second minute of play for her third goal of the season. With the goal, Silberman has now scored in three straight games.
In the 28th minute, Tori Minda sent one toward net, but the ball found the leg of a Towson defender, sending it back the other way. One minute later, Minda tried again, this time putting it right below the cross bar and out of the reach of keeper Riley Melendez. The goal marks Minda's third of the season.
GW took three more shots in the first half before heading into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.
In the 76th minute of play, Towson cut GW's lead to one after a goal from Khori Banks, her first of the season.
Despite putting four on net, GW remained scoreless in the second half, but held on to secure the victory on the road.
With the win, GW moves to 3-1-0 on the season.
NOTEWORTHY
- Minda took five shots, leading GW in that category for the second consecutive game.
- As a team, GW took 11 shots with Kelly Amador (2), Silberman, Beth Ellinport, Sammy Neyman and Maria Pareja also contributing attempts.
- Keeper Tamaki Machi made nine saves.
