Sophomore takes 3-meter board at JMU
HARRISONBURG, Va. - Spencer Bystrom claimed a win on the 3-meter board on Saturday, leading the GW divers at James Madison's Duke Dog Invitational.
A sophomore from Beachwood, Ohio, Bystrom posted career-best efforts on both boards at Savage Natatorium, significantly improving his score from prelims in both finals.
Bystrom totaled a score of 303.15 in the 3-meter finals to land atop the 3-meter podium, topping his prelims performance by nearly 50 points. He also paced the Buff and Blue on the 1-meter board, finishing runner-up with a finals score of 276.95 to edge third-place teammate Nick Tomczyk at 269.85.
Caitlin Inall led the women on both boards for the second straight weekend, notching a 3-meter score of 231.05 and a 1-meter tally of 230.75.
