Swimmer helped set three records at Big Al Invitational

Matic enjoyed a record-breaking weekend at Princeton's Big Al Invitational, highlighted by a sensational showing in the 100-yard butterfly. The junior from Belgrade, Serbia broke former Buff and Blue All-American Andrea Bolognesi's Atlantic 10 record in the event on Saturday during prelims and then went even faster in the finals to win in 45.72 seconds.
Matic also swam the butterfly leg on a pair of historic medley relays at DeNunzio Pool. He teamed with Karol Mlynarczyk, Marek Osina and Tyler Kawakami to win the 400-yard medley relay in an A-10 record time of 3:09.40 on Friday, and the same group set another mark the next day with a time of 1:26.91 in the 200-yard medley relay.
In addition, Matic placed fourth in the 200-yard butterfly in an NCAA B-cut time of 1:46.34 that ranks second all-time in program history, and his time of 20.32 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle is good for fifth on the program's all-time list and ranks second in the conference this season behind only his teammate Kawakami.
