Graduate student caps off GW career with three-goal week
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Kelly Amador has been honored as the A-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her play with George Washington women's soccer last week.
Amador put together an impressive offensive showing over the final week of GW's regular season, starting it off with her first career multi-goal game against Duquesne, before scoring a goal just 15 minutes into the Buff & Blue's 1-1 draw against Davidson on Sunday.
Amador, who's five-year GW career came to a close Sunday afternoon, finished the year as the team leader in points, with 14, and tied for the team lead in goals, with five.
Amador joins teammate Alicia Window as the second Colonial this season to earn an A-10 weekly award, and Amador is the first player since Maria Pareja in 2019 to take home Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Amador was also honored as GWsports.com's Colonial of the Week for her efforts last week.
