Jovanovic Garners MAWPC Weekly Award

Sophomore honored after conference doubleheader
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. - George Washington's Viktor Jovanovic has been honored as the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Player of the Week for his play in the Buff and Blue's doubleheader last Saturday.
Jovanovic tied for the team lead with four goals across the two games and also stoked the offense by drawing 10 ejections. The sophomore center had a goal and four ejections drawn in the opener vs. Fordham before registering three goals and a career-high six ejections drawn in a 12-11 comeback victory over Wagner.
Jovanovic, who shared the award with Ivan Zivojinovic of Salem University, was recognized with an MAWPC weekly honor for the first time in his career. He was an All-Conference Second Team pick last spring as a rookie.
This season, Jovanovic has a team-leading 38 ejections drawn through 16 games, and he's also chipped in 18 goals, four assists and seven steals.
Andrija Sekulic landed a spot on the Rookie of the Week Honor Roll after posting two goals and three assists in the thrilling victory over Wagner.
GW (7-9, 4-1 MAWPC) is back in action at Smith Center Pool on Saturday, welcoming Bucknell for a 2 p.m. start.
