Welcome back to Beyond the Bio, where we'll get to know more about the people behind the scenes at GW Athletics.
In this edition, we learn about Marybeth Monaghan or "MBH", who is entering her seventh year with the Buff & Blue as the Assistant Director of Athletics Branding and Graphic Design. Marybeth is responsible for creating all of the graphics, print materials, internal and external branding and overall design for GW Athletics.
When I'm not working, my favorite thing to do is?
On a rainy day: Create, most of the time in my woodshop, sometimes back on the computer
On a nice day: Hiking, biking, kayaking outdoors
If I was an animal, I would be?
A Wookiee
If I could only eat one meal for every meal for the rest of my life, it would be?
Lobster and shrimp tacos with mango salsa
My favorite place I've ever been is?
The top of Mount Evans at sunset in Idaho Springs, Colo. At 14,271-feet, I felt like I was on another planet looking down at Earth!
If I could have coffee with anybody in the world, living or historical, he/she would be?
Walt Disney or Tom Hanks
The one job in GW Athletics I'd like to do for a day is?
Hitting fungoes at GW baseball or softball practice :)
The person I'm most inspired by is?
My mom, and everyone that knows her would probably say the same. She's an incredible photographer/storyteller, her wildlife shots are exceptional. Follow her instagram @
My favorite book, movie, TV show or podcast is?
Book: The whole Harry Potter series, don't @ me
Movie: Forrest Gump
TV Show: It WAS Game of Thrones but we all know how that turned out, so I would say The Office is my go-to.
My top #OnlyAtGW moment was?
Witnessing a motorcade including President Obama and First Lady Michelle go by on my way to work. Getting to design the GW basketball-themed Big Bus DC Tours wrap and seeing it driving around D.C. was pretty awesome, too
If I could be granted the gift of elite athleticism, I'd like to be able to?
Compete as an Olympic gymnast
