Beyond the Bio: Christian Kiselica
8/24/2020 12:57:00 PM | Women's Volleyball, My GW: Celebrating our Stories
Welcome back to Beyond the Bio, where we'll get to know more about the people behind the scenes at GW Athletics.
In this edition, we learn about Christian Kiselica, who is entering his first year with the Buff & Blue as an assistant coach for the volleyball team.
When I'm not working, my favorite thing to do is?
Pretty much anything active and outdoorsy. I'm definitely an adrenaline junkie. I love to rock climb, hike and camp. I'm also a surfer and have always been drawn to the ocean. When I'm relaxing, I like to cuddle my two dogs and watch documentaries.
If I was an animal, I would be?
Either a dolphin or a Peregrine falcon. I'd love to be able to ride waves and explore the ocean like a dolphin, but being able to cliff dive 200 mph like a Peregrine falcon sounds exhilarating.
If I could only eat one meal for every meal for the rest of my life, it would be?
Pizza or Smoothies. I have 2-3 smoothies a day, but I never turn down a slice.
My favorite place I've ever been is?
Ireland. It's incredibly beautiful and the people are so friendly!
If I could have coffee with anybody in the world, living or historical, he/she would be?
I'd love to be able to sit with my late Grammie one last time for some evening coffee and dessert after a big Italian family dinner.
The one job in GW Athletics I'd like to do for a day is?
Not necessarily a job, but I would love to know what it feels like to have John Square's energy and woo for a day!
The person I'm most inspired by is?
My parents. My dad for his leadership and his charisma. My mom for her consistent work ethic and her affectionate nature.
My favorite book, movie, TV show or podcast is?
Book: Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins
Podcast: Finding Mastery with Dr. Michael Gervais
TV Show: Peaky Blinders
Movie: The Cave
My top #OnlyAtGW moment was?
Most of my job so far has been during quarantine. After months of Zoom calls, seeing our athletes in person was really special to me.
If I could be granted the gift of elite athleticism, I'd like to be able to?
Free solo rock climb. I'm very intrigued by the mental fortitude it takes.
