Welcome back to Beyond the Bio, where we'll get to know more about the people behind the scenes at GW Athletics.
Â
In this edition, we learn about Anjuwon Spence who is in his fifth year as a member of the Buff & Blue. Anjuwon is the Assistant Director of Ticket Sales and Operations, responsible for managing the daily sales operations of the Athletics Ticket Office with the goal of generating revenue while providing excellent customer service. Let's take a deeper dive into Anjuwon's passions, favorite places, and what he loves most about being a Colonial.
 Â
When I'm not working, my favorite thing to do is?
Playing basketball, cooking and laughing
Â
If I was an animal, I would be?
Lion! King of the Jungle! 'Nuff said!Â
Â
If I could only eat one meal for every meal for the rest of my life, it would be?
Easily would be homemade mac and cheese. Don't forget the bread crumbs!
My favorite place I've ever been is?
San Diego, California. When I visited a few years back, it was in January and the weather was perfect: 70 degrees, palm trees, cool breeze.Â
If I could have coffee with anybody in the world, living or historical, he/she would be?
Dave Chapelle or Kevin Hart; some type of comedian or entertainer. I feel like that would be a fun time.Â
The one job in GW Athletics I'd like to do for a day is?
Head Coach, GW Men's Basketball. I, myself, dabbled in a little college basketball back in the day, so it would be fun to coach one game, but after that I would definitely leave it to Coach Christian.
The person I'm most inspired by is?
There's several inspiring men of color that I admire. Some notable ones are: Muhammad Ali, Nelson Mandela, Kobe Bryant and Curtis Spence, my dad.
Â
My favorite book, movie, TV show or podcast is?
Book:Â Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
Movie:Â Training Day
TV Show:Â The Wire
My top #OnlyAtGWÂ moment was?
When GW beat #6 UVA in 2015-16. The Smith Center was sold out and rocking! Best atmosphere I have ever been a part of.
If I could be granted the gift of elite athleticism, I'd like to be able to?
I'd definitely win an Olympic Gold Medal over Usain Bolt in the 100m dash.
