
Men's Basketball Falls to Fordham in A-10 First Round

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Redshirt senior Armel Potter scored 21 of his 24 points in the second half, but the George Washington men's basketball team fell to Fordham in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championship, 72-52, on Wednesday afternoon at Barclays Center.
Junior Maceo Jack added nine points while first-years Jamison Battle and Chase Paar combined for 14 points. Battle had eight and knocked down a pair from the outside while Paar scored all six of his points in the first half and grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.
The Colonials trailed 32-17 at the half, as the Rams held a double-digit lead through the second half.
Jalen Cobb led the Rams with 15 points.
The Colonials conclude the 2019-20 season with a 12-20 mark, a three-game improvement under first-year head coach Jamion Christian.
Battle, who was GW's A-10 All-Rookie honoree, ends his first season with the Colonials as the single-season record holder in made 3-point field goals with 89. He finished second on the team in scoring and rebounding at 11.8 and 5.2 per game.
The Colonials will graduate five student-athletes at the end of the academic year and will welcome three new first-years to the fold next fall in addition to Southern Miss transfer Hunter Dean.
