Colonials rack up season-high 14.0 blocks in sweep
WASHINGTON -Â GW volleyball posted its third sweep of the weekend, dispatching of visiting Albany in straight sets on Sunday at the Smith Center. All five of the Colonials' victories this season have come in sweeping fashion.

Key Stats
• GW had its best blocking day of the campaign with 14.0 total blocks. Six different Colonials got in on the act, led by first-year Addie Feek's seven (one solo). Graduate students Caroline Sklaver and Paty Valle added five block assists each.
• Defensively, sophomore Bella Bowman recorded 13 digs, her ninth double-digit dig game in the first 10 matches of the season.
• Buoyed by the blocks, the Buff & Blue had one of their best defensive days of the year, holding the Great Danes to .069, the second-lowest mark for an opponent this year.
• The Colonials notched seven service aces, one shy of a season-best, three of which came from Jaimeson Lee. The senior setter distributed 23 assists and accounted for eight digs and three blocks.

Set 1: GW 26, Albany 24
• Neither team attacked particularly well in the first set, and the Colonials found themselves on the wrong end of a 10-6 score early on. A 10-3 burst put GW ahead, 16-13, before a back-and-forth affair saw the stanza squared 24-24.
• Valle delivered a kill to give GW its second set point and an Albany attack error led the Colonials to the first set triumph.

• The blocks showed up in emphatic fashion in the second set with five of the first 10 Colonial points coming via the rejection. GW ended up with six blocks in the set altogether.
• Despite jumping out to a 10-1 cushion, the Buff & Blue saw Albany whittle back to within one at 20-19 before finishing the set on a 5-2 spurt with Iott providing the final kill.

• The Colonials never trailed for the second straight set, starting on a 7-2 run and never looking back. Valle (six kills) and Feek (three) were part of the balanced attack in the stanza.
• GW had its best attacking set of the day, hitting .200 with 12 kills in 35 attempts to finish off its third sweep in the last four matches.

• The Colonials take part in their final non-conference tournament of the season next weekend, traveling to the Creeds & Crests Classic in San Marcos, Texas. GW will battle Sam Houston State and host Texas State on Friday before wrapping up with UTSA on Saturday.
