Men's water polo stars celebrated Senior Day in style

Two of the most decorated student-athletes in program history, Atakan Destici and Andrew Mavis fittingly led the way for GW men's water polo during Saturday's Senior Day doubleheader.
Mavis totaled 14 goals on the day, matching his career high with seven goals against both Fordham and Wagner, while Destici set career highs with nine goals and 14 points in the 24-15 victory over the Seahawks to finish the twin bill.
On Sunday, the pair of All-Americans helped the Colonials close out the regular season strong with an 11-10 win over No. 14 Bucknell. Destici scored three times vs. the Bison with Mavis finding the net twice.
Mavis finished with 16 goals over the three games to push his career total to 275, while Destici tallied 13 scores on the weekend and enters the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Championship with 255 for his career. Both career totals rank among the program's top five all-time.
