
Colonial of the Week Presented by Capgemini: Women's Basketball

The Colonials went 4-0 last week with an improbable run through the Atlantic 10 Championship to capture the program's seventh Atlantic 10 tournament title, and third in the last four seasons.
After Tuesday's first round victory over La Salle at the Smith Center, fifth-seeded GW knocked off two higher seeds, including regular-season champion and No. 1 seed Dayton in the semifinals, before dominating Saint Joseph's in the championship game.
GW's staunch defense paved the way to the title, surrendering just 52.5 points per game over the four-game title run.
A number of standout individual performances helped lead the way to GW's title.
Brianna Cummings
- A-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player
- Averaged 16.0 points on 46 percent shooting with 5.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
- Was GW's top scorer in three of the tournament games and hit 88 percent (24-of-27) of her free throws.
Mei-Lyn Bautista
- A-10 All-Championship Team
- Dished out 26 assists with zero turnovers in four tournament games.
- Averaged 2.5 steals per game.
Kelsi Mahoney
- A-10 All-Championship Team
- Connected on 14-of-26 three pointers, with a handful coming at key moments in each of GW's three wins over the weekend.
- Averaged 11.5 points and 3.8 rebounds for the week.
Kelli Prange
- Averaged 13.8 points in 23.5 minutes per game in the title run.
Neila Luma
- Double-doubled against Dayton's vaunted front court with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the semifinal upset.
- Averaged 9.3 points and 5.5 rebounds while knocking down 53 percent of her field-goal attempts in the tournament.
