Senior lifts women’s soccer to undefeated weekend

The women's soccer squad enters its final two weeks of the regular season on a three-match win streak, in large part thanks to senior Sofia Pavon. Pavon, who leads the squad with 14 points on the season (5g, 4a), scored the game-winning goal at Duquesne on Thursday. The forward broke the scoreless deadlock at the 58th minute after taking a pass from Kelly Amador and shooting the ball just out of the reach of the Dukes' keeper.
The Chicago native continued her momentum on Sunday against Richmond with her fourth consecutive goal over three games and fifth tally of 2018. Pavon also added an assist to help lift the Colonials to their third consecutive victory. In that span, GW has outshot its opponents 46-24 and has scored seven goals, four of which have come from Pavon.
