Abdel-Maksoud went 3-0 with a trio of wins over opponents from Ivy League institutions as the Colonials improved to 11-4 overall with a pair of wins at the Yale Round Robin.
The freshman from Cairo, Egypt, was the lone Colonial to earn a win in an 8-1 loss to No. 4 Yale when he beat the Bulldogs' Zachary Lemen at the No. 1 position on the ladder, 6-11, 12-10, 11-8, 11-9.
He then picked up wins over No. 16 Brown (6-11, 11-7, 11-4, 11-6 over Thomas Blecher) and No. 12 Cornell (11-5, 11-4, 11-9 over Harry Freeman) to run his team-best win total to 13. GW's two wins were the program's first-ever triumphs over Brown and Cornell.
