2014-15 NSCAA Women's College Team Academic Award Winners
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the sixth consecutive year, the George Washington women's soccer squad has received a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Academic Award, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The Colonials posted a 3.41 team grade-point average throughout the 2014-15 academic year in Head Coach Sarah Barnes' third year at the helm. GW is one of 554 women's squads across the nation, and one of nine Atlantic 10 institutions to claim the honor.
Women's soccer led all GW teams in both the fall and spring semesters last year with 12 and 17 student-athletes on the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, respectively.
GW was one of five A-10 universities and one of 208 nationally with both the men's and women's programs earning the distinction.
Teams must post a GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout the fall and spring semesters to earn NSCAA Academic Team honors.
