GW Women's Soccer Ranks Seventh in NSCAA Regional Poll

NSCAA NCAA Division I Women's Mid-Atlantic Poll
WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's soccer team has earned a No. 7 ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division I Women's Mid-Atlantic Poll after the second week of competition.
The Colonials (2-1-0) opened the season with a 1-0 overtime victory over UC Riverside on Aug. 21, and tallied their second win in Sunday's home opener with a decisive 3-0 triumph over East Carolina.
GW ranks seventh in the region behind William & Mary (3-1-0), Northeastern (3-1-0), Harvard (1-0-0), Dartmouth (1-0-0), Saint Louis (2-1-0) and James Madison (2-2-0). Hofstra (2-2-0), Navy (2-2-0) and Atlantic 10 foe Saint Joseph's (2-1-0) round out the top 10.
Junior MacKenzie Cowley currently leads the Buff and Blue with three goals on the young season, while senior Emily Brown and junior Lina Proska have each reached the back of the net once. Seniors Kristi Abbate and Brooke Stoller, sophomores Brittany Cooper and Ingrid DiClemente and freshman Charley Prevost have each recorded an assist in 2015.
GW hosts Drexel on Friday at the GW Soccer Field on the Mount Vernon Campus for a 3 p.m. match.
