WASHINGTON - The George Washington women's soccer team has released its promotional schedule for upcoming home games at the GW Soccer Field on the Mount Vernon Campus.
GW's home opener will be on Sunday, Aug. 30, with a Kickin' it at the Vern game when East Carolina comes to town as students return to campus on move-in weekend. Students and fans are encouraged to arrive early, as free food and games will be available beginning at noon before kickoff at 1 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 20, will feature Kid's Day as the Colonials will take on Delaware State at 1 p.m. Children aged 12 and under will be invited onto the field after the game for a free one-hour clinic with members of GW's squad and coaching staff.
The Colonials will host their annual Pink Game on Sunday, Oct. 11, when Atlantic 10 foe Massachusetts visits the District for a 1 p.m. kickoff. GW will don pink uniforms and fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
The Buff and Blue will dedicate its Oct. 22 bout to Friends of Jaclyn, an organization aimed at improving the quality of life of children fighting pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers. Fans are encouraged to learn more about Friends of Jaclyn and its mission here and support the Colonials as they take on conference opponent Fordham at 3 p.m.
On Sunday, Nov. 1, the Colonials will honor Kristi Abbate, Brooke Bean, Nicole Belfonti, Emily Brown, Ellen Conway, Kyla Ridley, and Brooke Stoller in a Senior Day ceremony prior to GW's regular season finale against Saint Louis at 1 p.m.
The promotional schedule is subject to change.
