The No. 11 George Washington women's squash team won three consecutive matches, two over higher-ranked opponents from the Ivy League, on the way to the program's first-ever Kurtz Cup (B-Division) Championship at this weekend's College Squash Association (CSA) Team Nationals in Princeton, N.J.
The Colonials defeated Middlebury, 6-3, on Friday before upsetting Brown, 5-4, on Saturday to earn a spot in the Championship match. Trailing 4-2 against Columbia, the Colonials won three consecutive matches to complete the comeback and win the match 5-4. It marks the program's third overall championship and first in the B-Division.
GW concludes the season as the No. 9-ranked team in the CSA, the highest-ever ranking in program history.
