GW Men's Cross Country Takes Sixth at Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Sophomore Ryan Tucker was the top finisher for the George Washington men's cross country team for the third week in a row as the Colonials finished in sixth place out of nine teams at Saturday's Navy Invitational at the United States Naval Academy Golf Course.
Georgetown won the event with 26 points followed by Navy (37), American (83), UMBC (91), Howard (183), GW (186), Loyola (Md.) (194), Catholic (241) and Bowie State (252).
Tucker finished in 36th overall out of 75 runners in the 8,000-meter race, a three-spot improvement from his 39th-place showing at last season's event. Tucker finished the course in 25:57.86, which marked a 50-second improvement from last season.
Freshman Jordan Pantalone was next across the line for the Colonials, finishing in 26:43.28 for 43rd place. He was followed by classmate Seamus Roddy (43rd, 26:52.66) and junior Tyler Gillies (51st, 27:39.09).
Gillies' performance was both a three-spot and 63-second improvement from last season's installment of the Navy Invitational.
GW returns to action on October 5 at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.
