Event: College Squash Association Team Nationals
The No. 17 George Washington men's squash won its first ever national championship with three consecutive victories over Stanford, Bowdoin and Colby College in the Summers Cup (C Division) at the College Squash Association Team Nationals in Princeton, N.J.
The Colonials cruised past Stanford, 8-1, before avenging last season's loss against Bowdoin in the 2011 Summers Cup Championship match with a 5-4 victory over the Polar Bears in the semi-finals. GW then outlasted Colby College, 5-4, to clinch the program's first national championship.
