AMHERST, Mass. - The George Washington women's soccer team fell to Massachusetts, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon in its finale of a four-match road swing and final road match of the regular season.

The Colonials (4-11-1, 0-7-0 A-10) return to the GW Soccer Field on the Mount Vernon Campus next weekend to host Butler in the first-ever meeting between the two programs and Saint Louis on Sunday for Senior Day. Prior to Sunday's match, the Buff and Blue will honor seniors Molly Bruh, Samie Cloutier, Adriana Moya, Clare Roche and Kayley Sullivan.

Massachusetts (8-8-1, 3-3-1 A-10) outshot GW, 6-2, in the first half and held a 1-0 advantage at the break, but the Minutewomen followed with a three-goal second half to secure the victory. Jackie Bruno put Massachusetts on the scoreboard at 22:47 when she collected a deflection from teammate Tori Sousa's shot and pushed the ball into the goal.

The Minutewomen took a 2-0 lead 42 seconds into the second half when Alyssa D'Arcy fired a shot from 18 yards out into the right corner. Eight minutes later, a foul in the box by a Colonials' defender allowed Massachusetts a penalty kick opportunity. Moa Mattsson, who entered the match tied for seventh in the Atlantic 10 with 19 points (8g, 3a), deposited the shot into the lower left corner to extend the lead to three.

Mattsson assisted Massachusetts' final goal of the match at 60:26 when she stole the ball from GW freshman goalkeeper Nicole Fasano as she attempted to make a stop outside of the box and passed it back to D'Arcy, who scored on an empty net.

Freshman Kristi Abbate recorded a team-high two shots on the day for the Colonials and Moya, freshman MacKenzie McIndoe and junior Alex Neal each tallied a shot. Fasano made four saves on 12 shots faced.

GW welcomes Butler on Friday at 3 p.m. and Saint Louis on Sunday at 1 p.m. to wrap up their 2012 season.
