
Slack Gets Game-Winner over American, 2-1

WASHINGTON, DC - Senior Kristen Slack flicked a pass from senior Michelle Aueron behind her defender and past the American University goalkeeper for the game-winning goal in the Colonials 2-1 victory over the Eagles on Tuesday afternoon at Mount Vernon Field. GW improves to 3-3-0 on the season, while AU falls to 0-8-0.
AU got on the board first off a Brooke Sheppard corner that took one bounce to her AU teammate Frederike Engle who put it just out of reach for GW goalkeeper Lindsey Rowe in the 15th minute.
Senior Ashley Starks scored the equalizer in the 36th minute when she was the last player to connect with the ball during a scramble in front of AU's goal.
GW travels to Delaware for the Blue Hen Classic to take on Drexel, Friday, Sept. 17 at 5:00 p.m. then takes on host Delaware on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 2:00 p.m. The Colonials next home game at Mount Vernon Field is on Friday, Sept 24, against Gardner-Webb at 4:00 p.m.
