
RMU Holds the Colonials Scoreless, 1-0

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA -- The Colonials women's soccer team fell in a tough 1-0 match to Robert Morris Sunday afternoon. RMU improves to 1-1-1 on the season, while GW falls to 0-2-0.
GW's forwards and midfielders dominated possession of the ball in the first half, getting five shots off. Senior Jillian Morgan had two shots on goal in the first half.
Just a minute into the second half, RMU's Johanna Kadam found Ayana Davis for the goal as Davis broke into the box, who put the ball in the far corner out of the reach of GW goalkeeper Lindsey Rowe.
In the 65th minute, the GW took three shots within five seconds on RMU goalkeeper Jessica Olin, but could not get it by her to even the contest.
Morgan and junior Sierra Smidinger led the Colonials with three shots each, with Morgan's all on goal.
Sophomores Adriana Moya, Kayley Sullivan, Molly Bruh and freshman Claire Haft also got in on the shot attempts. Moya had two on goal while Sullivan and Haft had one.
The Colonials will take on UMBC at Mount Vernon Field on Friday, Sept. 3, at 4:00 p.m. to kick off the home schedule for 2010. GW will take on Mount St. Mary's on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 1:00 p.m.
