
Californian Joins 2010 Women's Soccer Team

WASHINGTON, DC - GW women's soccer head coach Tanya Vogel is pleased to announce the addition of Claire Haft, a forward from Malibu, CA to the 2010 women's soccer roster.
Haft joins defenders Melanie Keer (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks-South) and Stephanie Marcozzi (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial), midfielders Alexandria Neal (Lake Villa, IL/Lakes Community) and Jane Wallis (Briarcliff Manor, NY/Briarcliff Manor) and goalkeeper Nicole Ulrick (Holland, PA/Council Rock South).

Club Team: Camarillo Eagles
Vogel on Haft: "Claire possesses athleticism and speed. She is competitive and wants to help our program from day one. She has the ability to be a threat up top one-on-one and around the goal. We are looking for her to come in and help make us better in the attacking third."
Haft on GW: "I chose GW for the location and academic opportunities, but more importantly I was impressed with the soccer program. Not only will I have great competition, but the coaches and players truly made me feel like GW is the place for me."
Academically, Haft has a strong passion for the social sciences and American Studies. Haft is active in community service including Operation Smile, One Voice and is an AVID Tutor. She hopes to pursue social welfare and work for a non-profit organization.
Haft's Resume: Haft was a captain on not only her club team, the Camarillo Eagles, but also for her Malibu High team. As a forward on her Malibu High School team, Haft garnered the following awards: California Interscholastic Federation Senior All-Star, All-California Interscholastic Federation First Team, and Offensive Player of the Year, Most Athletic and Most Valuable Player of her team.
