
Slack Named to 2010 Academic All-District 2 Second Team

WASHINGTON, DC - GW women's soccer senior midfielder Kristen Slack has been named to the 2010-11 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN Academic All-District 2 second team, as announced by the Academic All-America Committee Tuesday.
The District 2 University Division consists of all NCAA Division I college and universities in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. To be nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and starter or significant reserve for her team.
The public heath major maintained a 3.65 grade point average while starting 14 of 16 matches for the Colonials in her senior season. She scored the game-winner over American on Sept. 14, flicking in a free kick from teammate Michelle Aueron.
The Northville, MI, native, helped the Colonials to a 9-9-0 record this season, 3-6-0 in Atlantic 10 conference play. She started in 58 of 72 career matches for GW, as well as, scored five career goals and tallied four assists for 14 points
