GW Women's Soccer Named a NSCAA Academic Team

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University women's soccer program has earned the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Academic Award for the second consecutive year. The 26-member Colonials team compiled a 3.46 composite team grade-point average for the 2009-10 academic year.
A total of 630 soccer teams from all levels of NCAA competition (194 men, 436 women) posted a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for 2009-10.
The Colonials, led by 11th-year head coach Tanya Vogel, matched Atlantic 10 foe Saint Louis with the highest team GPA in the Conference. Women's Soccer was awarded the GW 2010 Women's Team Academic Excellence Award as the GW women's athletics program with the highest team GPA.
GW closed out the 2010 campaign with a 9-9-0 overall record and 3-6-0 in Atlantic 10 play.
