In a preseason exhibition match against Loyola (MD), freshman Kayley Sullivan scored the game-winning goal in the first half, beating her opponent as she worked the ball up the right side of the field toward the goal. Her blast from the right side was the game's only goal as GW prevailed, 1-0.

Sullivan and the Colonials kick off the 2009 season on Monday, August 24, against Towson in a 5 p.m. match at the Mount Vernon Soccer Field.
