Cambridge, MA - The George Washington men's water polo team once again played a very competitive game, but fell short against Bucknell 9-8 in the consolation game of the ECAC Championships. The Colonials were tied at eight with 1:30 left in the game, but the Bison scored the game-winning goal with 40 seconds left.
GW (5-7, 0-1 CWPA Southern Divison) took a 2-1 lead after one quarter, and were up 5-4 at the half. The Colonials undoing once again was the third quarter, where they were outscored 3-0 and fell behind by a 7-5 margin.
Freshman Cray Rogers and senior David Zenk led GW with three goals each. GW will return to action next Saturday, Sept. 27 when they host the same Bucknell Bison at 7:00 p.m. This game will take place at the Smith Center.
