Cantrell led GW to an 8-4 victory over La Salle in a must-win game Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia. The freshman pitcher allowed just one earned run in eight innings of work while recording a career-high nine strikeouts. Cantrell, making his first start since being struck by a line drive on Apr. 26 in Saint Louis, improved his record to 5-4. Cantrell, who has recorded 60 strikeouts while walking just 16 in 63.2 innings pitched, leads the Colonials with a 4.24 ERA and a .254 opposing batting average. He continued his strong performances away from GW's home field and is now 4-1 with a 2.20 ERA in six starts made in fields other than Barcroft Park.
