GW Swimming and Diving Wraps Day Two Of Patriot Invite

FAIRFAX, VA - Both George Washington University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams moved up one place in the standings, Saturday, in the Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason University at its Aquatic and Fitness Center.
After day two of the three-day meet, the men's squad stands eighth, out of 11 teams, and the women's squad stands sixth, out of 11 teams.
For the second straight day, both Duke University's men's and women's teams finished the day in first place.
GW diver Katura Horton-Perinchief (Sandys, Bermuda / Richview Collegiate Institute (Toronto, ONT) set a new meet and school record in the three-meter dive as the reigning Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week scored 511.05 points in the event.
Five Colonial swimmers qualified for final heats in their respective events, including senior Kirsten Rasmuson (San Diego, CA/Mt. Carmel) who placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.52.
After breaking her own GW 100-yard backstroke record (57.01 seconds) leading off the 400-medley relay event on Friday, junior Maggie Moss (Indianapolis, IN / North Central) qualified for the finals and finished third in the 100-yard backstroke (57.30 seconds).
Junior Mark Adam (Millersville, MD/Severna Park) recorded the best Colonial men's finish Saturday, qualifying for the finals and finishing fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.09 seconds).
The final day of the meet will take place all day Sunday.
