GW Men's Swimming Begins Season with First Place Finish

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington men's swimming team opened its 2004-05 season with a first place finish at the Potomac Relay Invitational, Friday evening, as the Colonials nipped host American University 320-316 at the Reeves Aquatic Center.
GW's women's squad took fourth place at the meet, finishing behind first place Navy.
The men won five out of 11 events at the meet, including the 200-yard medley relay where two Colonial freshmen contributed in the win.
Freshmen Jeff Glazer (Dix Hills, NY / Commack) and Danny Johnson (Glendale, AZ / Mountain Ridge), along with sophomore Jon Sabin (Fairfield, CT / Fairfield) and junior Mark Adam (Millersville, MD / Severna Park) took the race in a time of 1:38.84.
The women's team recorded a second place finish in the 200-yard medley, as senior Kirsten Rasmuson (San Diego, CA / Mt. Carmel), junior Maggie Moss (Indianapolis, IN / North Cenral) and sophomores Shannon Ma (Kennesaw, GA / The Walker School) and Monica Pampell (Albuquerque, NM / Albuquerque) posted a time of 1:55.00.
GW's next meet is Saturday, October 23, at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Start time is 11:00 am.
