Friar Scores Three to Lead GW
WASHINGTON, DC (March 8, 2001) - Junior Nell Friar scored three goals as the Colonials cruised to a 14-3 victory in their final home match.
WASHINGTON, DC (March 8, 2001) - Junior Nell Friar scored three goals as the Colonials cruised to a 14-3 victory in their final home match.
A balanced attack marked an overall team effort by the Colonials with Mia Fabian, Ashley Pyka and Heather Walenga all scoring two goals on the match. Goalkeepers Lisa Greenfield and Deanna Fuller combined for a solid effort in the net, with each only allowing two goals in four quarters of play. Fuller notched five saves with Greenfield adding three of her own.
The Colonials (8-5, 4-1) next play at the Collegiate Water Polo Association¹s (CWPA) second weekend invitational of the season from March 24-25, in Lewisberg, PA. GW will face Salem International, Bucknell University and Villanova on Saturday, March 24, and top-ranked Princeton on Sunday, March 25.
