WASHINGTON, DC (Nov. 8) - Redshirt sophomore Kim Warner (North York, Ontario/St. Joseph's) has been selected to the All Atlantic 10 second team in voting conducted among Conference head coaches, the Conference announced this afternoon.
Warner led the Colonials in goals scored (8), assists (4), points (20), shots (45) and gamewinning goals (3). Warner's 20 points ranked her third in the Atlantic 10 in scoring and her nine points during Conference play ranked her 10th in Atlantic 10 scoring. The talented forward kept opposing defenses on their heels all season long as her speed and skill proved to much for many of them. Warner's accomplishments come despite playing most of the season with both quadricep and knee injuries that caused her to miss one match completely and not start in another.
Among the Conference's major awards La Salle's Amy Schneider was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Dayton's Erin Showalter and Tesia Kozlowski were named Defensive Player and Rookie of the Year, respectively, while the Flyers Mike Tucker was named Coach of the Year.
The Colonials finished the season with an overall record of 8-10 and an Atlantic 10 record of 5-6. Next season, Warner will return to be the focal point of a team that will return 18 of 23 players.
