Rashard Fant serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development and Inclusive Excellence. In this role, Fant serves as the department's NCAA athletics diversity and inclusion designee, and develops leadership and career development programming/initiatives for all student-athletes. Additionally, he oversees both SAAC and BSAAÂ (Black Student-Athlete Alliance), departmental community engagement efforts, and leads all DEIB efforts for both student-athletes and staff, while supporting the culture and development of all staff and coaches.
Prior to joining the Revolutionaries, Fant served as the Director of Student-Athlete Success at Southern Methodist University (SMU), where he was responsible for SAAC, departmental community engagement efforts, departmental beginning and end of year events, Title IX education, and the mental health education trainings for all staff and coaches. Additionally, he assisted the department with leadership, career, and DEIB programming. Before that, he served as a student success and career coach for Guild Education, helping to support working adults on their educational journey towards finishing their academic programs and preparing for career success. Additionally, Fant worked as an Academic Support Coordinator for football at Georgia Tech and was a member of the Chicago Bears from 2018-2020. The Atlanta-area native is a former football student-athlete at Indiana University.
Fant received his Bachelor's Degree in Management with a minor in Human Resources and Business and completed his Master's Degree in Public Affairs with a concentration in Policy Analysis from Indiana University. Additionally, he is Mental Health First Aid Certified as an instructor. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education Policy and Leadership at SMU, focusing his research on organizational leadership, culture and change, as well as the experiences of Black students and student-athletes at Predominately White Institutions, and intersectionality amongst student-athletes.
