Savino joined the women's basketball coaching staff for the 2019-20 season after walking on to the Colonials roster in October 2018. She previously served as a team manager for three years. What started as a walk-on position turned into an incredible story during the 2018-19 campaign, as Savino appeared in the season opener at James Madison before joining the starting lineup on Nov. 18 at Iona.
From there, Savino started the final 27 games of her collegiate career and was awarded a scholarship for the spring semester prior to the team's contest at Rhode Island on Jan. 9. In 29 games, she averaged 2.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game while playing over 25 minutes per contest.
As a member of the coaching staff, Savino will be responsible for aspects of team and basketball operations. Her main responsibilities will include practice set-up, assisting with recruiting, development, alumni relations, marketing and all other areas of the program.
