Swimming & Diving Splits Duals vs. William & Mary, Navy

GW swimming & diving competed in a pair of dual meets on Saturday, as the swimmers competed at William & Mary while the divers challenged Navy. In Williamsburg, GW men's swimming left with a 153.00-108.00 victory, while women's swimming was defeated 174.00-87.00. In Annapolis, GW's women's divers won both events, but Navy's men's divers won both events.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
GW's 200-yard medley relay took first as Shae Stratton, Alessandro Borsato, Andres Brooks and JJ Phillips combined for the win (1:28.84)
First-year Efe Isler crushed the 1000-yard freestyle (9:08.55), nearing a GW record in his first meet (Mikhail Lyubavskiy, 9:06.15). Later, Isler won a second event when he tapped first in the 500-yard free (4:29.49)
Heitor Napolitano Fonseca Reis captured first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:39.86), followed by Matija Radjenovic in second (1:40.02)
Stratton tapped the wall first in both the 100-yard (48.91) and 200-yard (1:47.21) backstrokes
Brooks (1:44.52) and Kaan Varol (1:48.08) claimed first and second, respectively, in the 200-yard fly. Later in the meet, Brooks (47.40), Varol (48.32) and Artur Tobler (48.79) swept the top three spots in the 100-yard fly. Brooks' time in the 100 fly moved him into ninth in program history in the event
Shoon Li claimed a win in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:03.27)
First-year Maika Ognoskie got his first college win in the 200-yard IM (1:52.19), trailed by Tobler in second (1:52.36)
The men's 400-yard freestyle relay took first to finish the meet (2:59.00), swam by Napolitano Fonseca Reis, Radjenovic, Brooks and Stratton.
At Navy, senior diver Michael Wood took second in both the 1-meter (290.40) and 3-meter (317.48)
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
First-year diver Kaia Abbadi MacIntosh got her first collegiate event win at Navy, impressing on the 1-meter board (258.53)
Sophomore diver Jadin Brown had a strong start to her season with a win on the 3-meter board (263.63). Abbadi-MacIntosh finished the 3-meter in second (253.88)
Isabel Sayag claimed two wins in the meet as she was first to the finish in both the 100-yard fly (55.04) the 200-yard fly (2:02.18)
Mia Hren nabbed first place in the 100-yard free (50.57)
First-year Carmen Bunt earned her first collegiate victory in the 200-yard IM (2:04.32)
UP NEXT
The Revolutionaries will take part in the second-ever Dual Meet Tournament on Oct. 16-17 in Atlanta. GW will face Auburn in the first round at 10 a.m. on Oct. 16.
